Agriculture is the back bone of our country. India today is not only self-sufficient in grain production but also has a substantial reserve. And this success has been possible for many reason- the dedication of the farmers (post independence), better techniques evolved through agriculture research and extension of of irrigation facilities. Despite all these the monsoon still remains the the key source and major determining factor for agricultural productivity. But over the years accumulation of green house gases in the atmosphere has disrupted the weather patterns globally. And farmers are suffering huge losses; crops are being destroyed by floods, drought, temperature variations and proliferation of new pests.
The recent Indian drought as a result of disturbance in the monsoon pattern...the life giver is also attributed to the Climate Change. This film gives a broader view of how Climate change can affect agriculture in general and particularly in Indian subcontinent where more than half of its population is dependent on agriculture.

This film traces the evolution and discovery of medicinal plants and tribal wisdom in India to show how historically and culturally they have been integral part of India.
About 80% of the developing world still relies on age-old medicinal practices based on the curative properties of plants found in the area. Today, the modern world is moving towards this traditional practices creating a phenomenal demand for medicinal plants. Strangely, the bulk of the plants traded are gathered from 'wild' forest sources-very few species are cultivated. This created a major stress on natural resources-some himalayan are already close to extinction due to this dangerous trend. India is one of the richest bio-diversity hotspots in the world, supporting over 45,000 species of plants agricultural and medicinal.
The film explores and brings out the essence of the inter-dependence and way of living of tribal communities that have since time immemorial depended on the forest for all their needs, including healing purposes. It looks into the philosophy of traditional medicinal practices and discusses what future steps and measures are required to conserve and protect the medicinal heritage that is ours.

One of the last havens of untouched forested land - the Nilgiri Biosphere Reserve in South India is home to the deadly rock bee the Apis Dorsata. Just before the monsoon, the honey gatherers, Kurumba tribals of the Nilgiri prepare for their yearly harvest of honey, scaling precipitous cliffs to collect the treasure of the wild Apis Dorsata. Dramatic sequences of honey gathering off 300 foot cliffs leave you spellbound by their agility and fearlessness. This was the first film to have documented the way of living of the Honey Hunters of the Blue Mountains.

Thousands of Olive ridley sea turtles descend on the beaches of Orissa in east coast of India for their famous nesting season. During their nesting- mating season they stay in the offshore waters for six months. By February their famous Arribada begins-when females come to the beach in large numbers-to lay their eggs.
Our team filmed the nesting activity of the Olive ridleys and various challenges the newly born hatchlings face due to unplanned development and various human activities. As a result thousands of hatchlings die every year. Fortunately, during the last season various environment agencies along the volunteers and villagers participated in a conservation campaign to protect hatchlings giving the critically endangered Olive ridley turtles a new lease of life.
