Every day, nearly 15000 people all over the world die from tobacco related diseases. Out of these, over 2700 people are Indians. Tobacco in any form is harmful and lethal to the human body. This one addiction has resulted in breaking up families & homes and destroying young dreams. Tobacco is not only destroying our health but also the environment. While the government, and other agencies like Public Health Foundation of India try to prevent more people from falling prey to this menace, the choice for a good healthy life rests with us. By the time you finish watching the film, 51 Indians would have lost their lives to tobacco.
Earth Mattes Foundation, through this film is reaching out to local communities at the grass roots to generate awareness. Apart from other recommendations, the film highlights how strong pictorial health warnings on tobacco packs are one of the most effective public health measures to curb tobacco use. Once again it is in the hands of the citizens and if we want a quality life, the choice is simple, kick the habit before it is too late.
